Vortex Swirling Fires

Our Vortex Fires are manufactured for both indoor and outdoor use. However, if you plan to use them indoors you must make sure to comply with local building codes.
Our Vortex Fires are naturally aspirated - meaning there are no electronics involved. The swirling flame is generated by how we engineered its construction.
All our Vortex Fires are built to order and can be modified to fit your design needs. Construction time ranges from 5 to 8 weeks depending on our workload.
These set of custom Vortex Fires were powder coated with a beautiful Copper Antique finish (by our friends at (tigerdrylac). We would of hoped to install them further to the right, but the plumber didn't cut the old light system flush with the concrete top. So sadly the gas line and hole will be visible until the issue has been rectified.
The black boxes on either side are caps to place over the fires when not in use. We made them distinctly different so that they wouldn't forget to take them off when they go to light them.
From this angle it looks more like what he had imagined. Although the real WOW factor doesn't come until we photograph them at night. So hopefully well get a chance to go back soon and take some evening shots.
Getting a custom Vortex Fire begins with you E mailing us photos of where the Vortex Fires will go and your desired size(s). All Vortex Fires are Made in America.
Designed for a client in China, these pair of 48" high Vortex Fires were made of brushed Aluminum.
Fueled by propane and battery operated ignition with a set of remote controls.
A set of 2 rear reflective panels along with a powder coated black finish, made these custom Vortex's true one of a kinds.
Another Generation One set of 48" inch Vortex Fires with reflective glass panels were custom projects for Collins Design Co. Set atop a 26 story high high rise in Downtown Chicago, we here at night you can see the fires from 3 blocks away.

We worked with the Torch Restaurant in developing several custom Generation One Vortex Fires. See the pictures below and click here to find out more about Torch.
This set of Vortex Fires were developed for a private residence in Palm Desert for Brian Groff. He ordered a 18" x 18 x 36" and a 18" x 18" x 60" both with a set of chromium panels. Please see the final installation pictures below.
Here is what Brian had to say...
"Thanks Ed... the Vortex’ look amazing!"
A pair of Vortex Fires designed to provide the perfect atmosphere for some night swimming.
The following pictures and illustrations come to us from Mark Sturky, the future pilot for Virgin's Galactica spaceship. He came to us for a futuristic Vortex water and fire feature.
Mark provided some great digital sketches of what he wanted from us.
And here is the project completed, Mark got a 48" Aluminum Vortex with outdoor windshields surrounded with Black Magic and Diamond Toppers and a square stainless steel burner to best frame the Vortex.
A set of 36" tall Vortex's for our Palm Desert Client Trisha Prentis. As requested we constructed a set of custom bases that would raise the vortex's up high enough to adorn each side of her pools waterfall.
You'll notice the two tones of glass walls. For the inner glass encasing Trisha choose Bronze Reflective Glass for her Vortex walls, and clear glass for the surrounding windshield panels.

This was a "Lava Heat" lamp, that a customer wished to have convert into a vortex fire. The Vortex was clear glass and fueled by natural gas.
We played with the color of the flame by carbonating the air, (air mixer) which results in a fluctuation between blue and yellow flames.
Our customer was thrilled to have his one-of-kind fire feature. And we hope he sends us some final photos of the converted Lava Lamp at home.
The following photos were sent to us from our customer Ricky, whom ordered a total of 3 natural gas Vortex's. This particular one had a 24" dual feed Stainless Steel burner ring installed at its base surrounding the Vortex itself in fire.
The Generation One, Vortex was the center piece to a custom outdoor sitting area. Situated in moderately windy area it did not require a windshield encasing. The glass used was a a Graylite Reflective with a base of Black Magic under a white sand.
Ricky also requested we built him a 24" spun aluminum bowl with an exterior water ring and a fire ring in the middle, the FireGlass base was Multi-Mix Base Glass.
The other two Vortex's were then installed into their designated spots around this beautiful custom waterfall with bronze crane sculptures.

The next pictures are from the Lexus corporate party in Hawaii. There were a total of 5
Vortex's used for the event. They stood 96" tall and measured 18" by 18". These particular Vortex Fires were developed for JPGCO, one of the foremost and best display builders in the nation of automotive displays.
We currently working on the 4th generation of

This next
Vortex project belongs to Alfie Pettit in Palm Springs, California. One of our favorite and most colorful clients, Alfie designed this outdoor sitting area with our
Vortex as its center piece. We installed a 42" center-less stainless steel ring which made a fire pit all around the
Vortex. Here are some photos of the installation.
The following photos were from the Kronner wedding party. They used a total of 4 Vortex's which I think did a good job of lighting the entire backyard party. Please keep in the mind that our client was using a hand held camera in the dark.
Here are a few pictures of 5 of our Vortex Fires located in the Prive Las Vegas night club located at the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. These pictures were taken just after construction but the gas was not connected at that time. We will go back later and take pictures of all 5 Vortex Fires burning at one time.
The center Vortex is 48" tall, on either side they are 36" tall and the end Vortex Fires are 24" tall. The glass that was used was a clear crystal with only a bottom frame. The top was free floating. These are located just behind the main bar in the large picture window open to the balcony.
The next few pictures are of 36" Black Reflective (chromium coated) Battery Operated Ignitions installed under the Vortex Fires.
If you notice the hole in the front, it is light the ignition system in the event it does want to light because of moisture. We also use this hole to lift and remove this glass panel to clean the interior if it is ever needed. "Don't build a car and weld the hood shut." The batteries are accessible from and under the bottom side.
