Surrounds Page 3
The following photos come to us from our customer Ted Wu. He wanted a 3-sided Aluminum fireplace Surround to replace his old-fashioned brick frame.
And what a difference! A much better look around that dark marble.
A custom stainless steel surround before shipping out for installation.
The same customer also ordered a custom fire table.
The following pictures of this old brick fireplace has an all FireGlass install (3 inch installation) with a fireplace surround a triple burner, Ice Ice Ice Topper and Starfire Base Glass FireGlass with a freshly painted painted black background.
After some dry steel brush cleaning and a little bit of stove paint, a triple burner has been added.
Now we install the aluminum fireplace surround painted black. With only Starfire Base Glass FireGlass is installed for now.
It's kinda hard to see but we did install Ice Ice Ice Topper on top of the Starfire Base Glass FireGlass. If you noticed we had to pile a small mound in the front to cover the massive pipe connection.
Here is the 18" ribbon burner and pan being built. You'll notice what a simple and elegant wall of flame the ribbon burner creates. Keep in mind nothing can go over this type of burner, you'll notice how the FireGlass goes around it. But don't let this fool you the ribbon burners pack a bunch!
Here is the stainless steel pan and ribbon burner are installed. The front legs of the pan are 4" round brushed legs with our standard legs in the back.
Now we light it and make it come to life.
What we do is very simple, we listen to the customers needs and build from their imagination.
These pictures were sent to us by Martha Heatherwick from Shreveport Louisiana. We first sold the Clear Base Glass to her contractor and then she contacted us to have a custom fireplace surround built. Here is what the fireplace looked like before we started.
Each surround is made to fit your requirements. That's why we typically start with a cardboard template to replicate the size and shape of the fireplace surround.
This gives us a preview of what your surround should be - eliminating any surprises. The fireplace turned out great and you can see the surround added the finishing. This surround has 3" of aluminum and 2" of non frosted glass on the interior border.
Here are some before pictures from another customer who ordered a custom corner fireplace Surround.

These pictures were sent to us from a customer in Long beach CA, who ordered a custom corner fireplace surround. This is how it originally looked, dirty with fake logs.

The custom surround is installed, making the fireplace look anew!
Add some flames and the job is complete.
The fireplace below was finished with a standoff surround. We build brackets to support the surround 5 inches away from the fireplace. This was installed by Bruce Rubenstein in a Hollywood night club. If they ever send us pictures we will post them along with these.
In the bottom of the pictures you can see our brackets which supported the bottom and sides. The surrounds are brushed for a modern contemporary look.

The next few pictures are from Steve Clendenen in Florida. Propane fireplace (burner pan next). He started with a basic cardboard mock up (very important) to get a preview. Here we go from start to end. we will later post the fireplace completed with the propane burner and glass installed.
Yuk, yuk and YUK!
I didn't particularly like the cardboard. we use full size sheets, but I guess it worked.
Notice the corner post is missing? There are a few rules to remove these.
Do you see the difference? We create nice and wonderful looking fireplaces for you (and the world). We really enjoy building these custom fireplace surrounds.
