The fireplace below was hand made by one very creative customer, great job! It has a Starfire Base Glass and Clear Pyrite Base Glass added to the surface for a little sparkle.
The fireplace below is a direct vent installation with Gray Base Glass, Gray Reflective Base Glass and Clear Pyrite Base Glass installed
Has anyone ever said "Nice Logs"? I don't think so. We are going to show you how to transform your direct vent fireplace into a real attractive fireplace.
The key is not to change the amount of gas going into the fireplace, so don't change the regulator.
The thermocouple (heat detector) will be raised to the surface to insure it will still work.
Drop in a new burner or use the one that was installed with your fireplace and your done.

The fireplace below has Clear Base Glass, Gray Base Glass, Black Base Glass, Clear Pyrite Base Glass and topped with 1/2" Starfire Base Glass.
The fireplace below is a propane pan burner with a lava rock fill. You don't want to crush your own lava rock because of the time. You can use larger lava around the edges of the pan but you will want to use
crushed lava in the pan up to the surface of the burners. The glass use in this fireplace was a
Ford Blue Base Glass with
Ford Blue Reflective Base Glass on top. Topped with
Clear Pyrite Base Glass and
Amber Toppers accents. The install went very well except for the rock crushing episode.
The fountain below was converted to a fire pit with Black Magic. We use several hundred pounds of lava rock then top it with crushed lava rock to keep the materials from falling through. After we placed the Black Magic on the lava rock, Craig topped it with Clear Pyrite Base Glass (Clear with Sterling Silver coating) Clear Diamonds, Black Base Glass, Black Reflective Base Glass and now he has one cool fire feature. We will show you from beginning to end.
NASTY!
Here you can see the lightly coated Black Magic with our glass for accents and sparkle.
Here you can see the Diamonds. When you see the Diamonds in the fire they appear to be melting but actually they are only reflecting inside which looks like they are melting. They are made from crystal.
And with everything just right you have the Black Magic look!
Nice Flames!
The next "B" vent or Direct Vent fireplace is from Mark Basillus, Showing how easy it actually is. Again for all of those "Dummies" out there that keep telling you that you can't do it. Also keep telling you "the sky is falling!" I had to say that!
Oh look! Nice logs! NOT!
Here is what Mark had to say:
Ed,
Wanted to share with you the photos of our finished conversion to FireGlass.
We are really pleased that we decided to paint the inside of the fire box
red. That coupled with the glass had made the fireplace a focal point to
our living area!
