Burning Today...For A Greener Tomorrow!

Fire Tables Gallery #2

Our handy client Todd Tomburo DIY'ed this fire table with a lightweight aluminum frame that would house the propane tank inside.  This type of approach is ideal to keep the weight of the table down.  And as you will see in the completed pictures, the exterior ultimately didn't look flimsy at all.  See also Enrique Catro's balcony fire pit.

And here is the fire table completed.  The media is as follows, crushed lava rock as filler, a base glass mixture of Bronze Reflective Base Glass and California Gold Base Glass with Scarlet ED Diamonds sprinkled through out for accent.  You'll also notice that Todd added some wheels for the table, allowing him to transport it around his backyard.

This custom concrete top was built by our customer Tim Masloski. And though it looks amazingly cool; it was also amazingly heavy!  Like Enrique Castro, the design superseded the functionality of the piece.   The 3" thick concrete top could have been 1" thick and then we could create an aluminum frame that  wraps from underneath, giving the illusion of a 3" thickness.

Tim brought in the piece,  and we went to work installing our custom propane burner system with an aluminum base, 38" linear Burner, Thermocouple/pilot system, 100,000 BTU regulator and 15' quick disconnect hose.

We test the flame output, on both high and low settings to make sure the burner works properly.

The media was 3/16" Clear Base Glass, Super Black Base Glass, Clear Blocks with gravel as filler.

The next fire table was built by Brian Johnson of Omaha Nebraska, very nice! We supplied the components and Brian did the hard part, the table.

We don't have the construction pictures but we do have the table finished. Add Bronze Base Glass and to pit with 1 lb of Ice Ice Ice Topper, you are done.   The blue is actually food coloring.

The next fire pit was designed by and built for Kevin Leys of Chicago. He did a great job and you decide.  First he started with a single wall construction fire box with a pan on the top.

Then it was framed for exterior plywood or you could use metal studs and wonder board.   The gas valve was located to the outer framed wall

This is a natural gas fire pit. It was tested as soon as it turned dark, fun!   Now we add the crushed lava rock and glass over that. There are many sub materials you can use as a filler. Just ask.

Great back yard by the way! Chicago, remember?

Now we start to apply the tile for the finishing touch.

We now have "several" Patents and a Patent Pending Status. "We were the first to file" (yes we were), is why we have The Patents for FireGlass.

For any competitors out there, Second place is first loser. Sorry.
